Frequently Asked Questions – Clovelly Handmade Bird Feeders
Are the bird feeders really handmade?
Yes. Each bird feeder is individually handmade by Clovelly Wood Turnings on the historic Clovelly Estate. The wood is turned and finished in a local workshop, meaning every piece has its own natural character and grain.
What wood are the feeders made from?
They are made from ash wood sourced exclusively from fallen timber on the Clovelly Estate. This ensures the material is locally sourced and makes use of naturally fallen wood.

What birds will use this feeder?

Yes. The feeder is finished with several coats of Tung Oil, which is both weather resistant and food safe for birds.
Is the bird feeder suitable for outdoor use?
Yes. The Tung Oil finish helps protect the wood from the weather, making it suitable for use outdoors in UK gardens.
